The cat’s out of the bag. I have been working with @esterbrook_official for the last year or so to bring the next entry in the Esterbrook special nib program.

I do wish more companies would experiment with gemstones as a potential material to embed into their pens. Most recently, I recall Montblanc inserting a Ruby on the Le Petit Prince 146, and Visconti using Lapis Lazuli on a Medici model. The suspension of this Diamond in the clear resin is still my favourite. It looks like a true showcase of artistry, like a small museum or gallery piece that I can carry around.

I first saw the @montblanc 146 Diamond almost 10 years ago. I recall being literally and figuratively bedazzled by it. The perfectly cut 43 faceted diamond in the shape of the famous snow peaks of Montblanc floating in the clear resin. I was amazed at the level of craftsmanship and creativity to shape the gem in such an iconic and inventive way. The clear resin too is high quality, never losing its clarity and letting light through to illuminate the diamond.
